It's already a day late but I could not resist reproducing this wonderful snapshot of the way French society see itself ...

And suddenly it dawns on me why French people can say the the difference between British weddings and French weddings is that, when attending the former, it is necessary to be introduced to a lot of new partners whereas, in the latter case, the partners will still be the ones they were five, 10, 20, 30 years ago.
They, nos amis outre-Manche, are just getting the best of both worlds.
* I am sure no one needs telling but, just in case, it's an offer of buy one bouquet/get another at half price so that mistresses get flowers, too.
