Decades ago, after one of my very few experiences of being on strike, the return to work at my local newspaper was accompanied by some grumpiness on the part of the bosses who'd kept things ticking over in our absence.
A sub-editor, asked why he appeared to be disobeying the editor's clear instructions that all staff should now work at twice their normal rate to make up for what they'd neglected while in dispute, replied: "But I am relaxing at twice my normal rate."
