Yes, I know it's only my back garden. I also know a squirrel is not a cuddly, furry little gem of nature but a rat with bushy tail that chews electricity cables (been there) and generally makes a nuisance of itself.
But this one caught my attention, and that of my six-year-old granddaughter Maya, and therefore makes a sneaky entry into Salut!'s new Views of Britain series. We have an army of squirrels, all grey I'm afraid, in our street, to go with the cats, dogs, hedgehogs, mice and - at night- foxes from the park.
Those with a broader knowledge of nature will doubtless put me right: was it waiting to pounce on any bird daft enough to stop by for food, or was it resting after helping itself to some of the food?
