One daughter works in film (she’s stopped my pocket money for saying cinema), the other for a company that supplies linen to restaurant. Demand for their skills, it is fair to say, has dropped a little
A good friend got it right a few years ago when he said one of them was a better footballer than I have ever been and, unlike me, supported a team worth supporting (Liverpool, not Sunderland). The other, he said with similar accuracy, had a far more glamorous job in media.
Nathalie still plays football, or did when football existed just as she worked (and won two promotions in quick succession) when work existed.
Christelle, likewise free of immediate work thanks to Covid-19, is the one in media. And to demonstrate her experience and achievements in film publicity, she has used lockdown to launch, from the pleasant Sussex town of Lewes she currently calls home, her own website, delighted to have been given an unusual enough Christian name to allow her to call it simply christellerandall.com.
This is the key bit from her 'about" page:
Christelle Randall has worked with some of film’s most acclaimed directors such as Alejandro González In҃árritu, Sarah Polley, Sean Baker, Ari Aster, Guillermo del Toro, Shane Meadows, Sarah Gavron, Cate Shortland, Gaspar Noé, Michael Winterbottom, Deepa Mehta, Bart Layton, Luca Guadagnino, Michael Caton Jones, Peter Mullan, Park Chan Wook and more.
She handles campaigns at all the major international film festivals including Berlin, Cannes, Venice, Toronto and SXSW. Christelle also does local release campaigns, unit publicity and corporate work. While at Premier, she ran the the press team for the BFI London Film Festival, between 2011 - 2013.
In 2019, Christelle oversaw the UK publicity campaign for FOR SAMA, winning PR Campaign of the Year at the Screen International Awards. She also ran the UK awards campaign on the film which became the most nominated documentary in BAFTA history. Most recently she handled Sarah Gavron’s ROCKS, launching it as a world premiere in Toronto and running the UK publicity campaign.
Good luck with the new venture, Christelle. Good luck with getting back to work and football, Nathalie ...
